Saw him a couple times today and was consistent in both outings. Possesses quick handles and feet to change speeds in a hurry. Made a couple tough plays in the thick of the defense to still convert. Knocked down the trey off of catch and shoot opportunities. Had a great take coast to coast off of a D board and then dropped a dime off after drawing defender in. Will take a charge defending against bigger size. Impactful over next 2 years in the always competitive Southland Conference.

A recent transfer into Hammond Central High School after previously playing in Chicago, Whitehead made an immediate impression on us at Prep Hoops Indiana. The 5’8″ guard got hot from beyond the arc to start 5-on-5 play at the Paul Corsaro Elite Camp knocking in back-to-back pull-up three-point shots from the top of the key. Then, he showcased the ability to finish through size around the basket. Very quick with the ball in his hands that understands how to play against size.

I liked what I saw from Whitehead over the course of the weekend. He was a quick guard that utilized his speed and ability to change direction. Whitehead was able to create space off the bounce and make plays for his Chicago Lockdown team. He was a consistent scorer that didn’t need to be shot heavy to get his.
