About Isaiah
Expert Analysis
Jay Anderson | Prep Hoops Scout
Smith was an active presence on both ends of the floor who showcased his growth on the hardwood. He showed he could attack the painted area and knock down shots on the perimeter as he did with consistency. He did well to increase his stock. Expect a breakout senior season from him at Burlington Christian Academy and a bump in his rank when rankings update again in January.

, 2023-2024 was a standout year for Smith and his basketball development. Scoring an average well over double digits and shooting nearly 50% from the field, Smith is a score first combo guard whose ability to create plays makes him unique. He’s a physical, scrappy guard who uses his 6’5″ frame to get to his spots and score points. Smith is an elite three level scorer who’s versatility is a tough scout to prepare for. He moves well without the ball and is just as effective in finding his spots and making plays on a catch and shoot as he is in the pick and roll. Smith’s athleticism transcends pure offensive firepower. He’s a tough defender whose size allows him compete with 1-5 and stand his ground when tasked with shutting down opposing bigs. I think

‘s got a chip on his shoulder. I think he thinks he should be ranked higher. He’s not alone. If he can use that chip in a productive way, just keep doing what he’s been doing, I think it will elevate his game and indirectly his stock as he enters a highly anticipated senior season.

Smith will absolutely be a stockriser in the upcoming rankings update, as he’s become an important part of his E.A. Prep team, consistently making difficult shots from the mid-range or beyond the arc. Sports great size and length which allows him to play multiple positions with his ball skills, defensive IQ, and effort. Speaking of defense, he’s always active, looking to poke, prod, and make life difficult whether he’s an on-ball or off-ball defender. Going to be a big time player his senior year.

Smith is going to have a massive debut in our rankings after the season he’s had, and his ability to score the ball at multiple levels yesterday was evident. He knocks down tough mid-range jumpers consistently, and also shoots the spot up or off the dribble three well. His length and physicality defensively made him a tough matchup to have, especially in the fourth quarter when he began to help harass the ballhandler in the BCA press. His grassroots performances should almost certainly turn more eyes his way this spring.

Smith is a name that’s growing on the PH radar out of Burlington Christian Academy this season. He’s a big guard at 6-foot-5 who’s shown he can operate on the playmaking and rebounding front as well as scoring and defending. He’s averaging 19.2 PPG, 3.3 RPG, 2.2 APG and 1.3 SPG on 52 percent shooting from the field. He’s a name that also takes great pride in playing on the defensive end and it should show by the end of his career with the Royals.
