After a tough loss to open the week McLemore and his teammates have bounced back with back to back wins in Cleveland. On Thursday it was a 20 point performance from the senior wing that powered them to a 58-49 win over Webster. Then last night, the skilled senior went off for 30 points in a 75-59 victory over Santa Fe South. It was the first time, and likely not the last time, McLemore broke the 30 point mark on the year.
In the finals of the tournament, the Eagles will get a chance to avenge their earlier in the week loss to Metro Christian.

McLemore has a lot of good traits when it comes to the next level. His height and wingspan give him some potential versatility when it comes to being competitive around the basket as a rebounder and the defensive end. And he has a good spin move on drives and is becoming a more explosive finisher when given the runway, he’s still his best as a smooth catch and shoot floor spacing. Along with the spin move at the rim, he’s looked better in the mid-range after being ran off the line.
When watching the wing prospect at Owasso, it seemed like something was missing as the production wasn’t quite there when comparing to the best in the state. This spring and summer had good signs as he fitting into a winning team this past grassroots season. Now he’s in a new set up as the primary option for his new high school team. The competition level will be a step down from 6A, but this does represent an opportunity for the overall growth of his game, especially offensively. If McLemore, who has a recent offer from Southwestern College (KS) thrives in his new role, this is another example of a ranking being too low.

A newcomer to Mingo Valley, McLemore is stepping into a primary role for the private school program. Still a good shooter from distance, the 6 foot 5 wing prospect was more active off the dribble. He’s starting to have more variety to his off the dribble game, becoming more than just a straight line driver with some pop at the rim. An encourage sign was the ball didn’t stick when he had it, as he was a willing passer. It will be an interesting evaluation for McLemore going forward in a new environment. One area of note for improvement, when going left he leans heavily on a spin move back towards his right hand.

Isaiah McLemore is a high energy sniper! Mclemore never stops moving on offense and consistently finds his spots to catch and shoot behind the arc, especially in the corner. Isaiah shoots the ball with great confidence and remains unphased after misses and is always prepared to rise up and shoot it again even with a hand in his face. This danger behind the arc opens up a lot f one dribble pull ups and rim attacks for McLemore due to the defenses fear of his shooting ability. Isaiah is an ideal 3 and D build for any competitive program looking to be a contender as he is currently looking to take his talents to a new program next season.

While the first three prospects on this breakdown are your more traditional forwards, Owasso’s Isaiah McLemore might be considered more of a guard than a forward at this point. But we really like the size that he has and the play that he’s shown throughout this season. McLemore is one of the more underrated parts of Owasso’s team this season. A lot of attention is on their freshman star

but McLemore has played his role incredibly well. We like the growth he’s shown in the last 12 months and he could be just scratching the surface on what the end product is going to be next year.

After falling on the road to #1 Broken Arrow in a close one last week, Owasso has bounced back with two straight wins, including Tuesday night’s 73-50 win over Sapulpa at home. Leading the way for the Rams was their junior standout Isaiah McLemore, who led all scorers with 20 points. The Rams had a very balanced attack as four of their starters finished in double figures. That’s what’s scary about Owasso moving forward. This is a very young but talented team that is getting more confidence as the season goes on. McLemore is enjoying a great breakout season and he’s turning into a 2024 name that coaches need to know about. McLemore and the Rams now hit the road and head north for a tournament in Pittsburg, Kansas this weekend.
