About Isaiah

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am mentally tough, as I have battled many adversities in my life, and have taught myself how to stay mentally strong. I am a pretty calm, humble and funny guy. I like to make people laugh, but I also don’t like a lot of attention on me at times. I am a selfless person. I am highly intelligent and love to have deep intellectual conversations, rather than meaningless ones.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I stay pretty busy through out the year, so I don’t have a lot of time, but I try and make time for church, and serving in my community. I also train kids in my city in basketball, it helps me develop my game, as well as pushing others, and showing them how I got to where I am today. I love to be someone others look up to.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed leadership skills the last 4 years, as I had to step up for my team and lead them, pick up my teammates when they got in their head, helped teammates manager their behavior, all while playing the game. I pride myself in how I incorporate my teammates in the game, and also pride myself in the selflessness I display on and off the court.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes I have faced significant challenges, a big one in 2025. I ended up with mono, covid and pneumonia all within a few weeks of each other. It wiped me out. It attacked my heart, and I was not aloud to play at all for 2 weeks until they figured out what was going on. I got very depressed thinking basketball was over for me. But I battled through it all, got released and had my best year.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college with either pre engineering or engineering. I just want to go to school and play basketball, whatever way I can do that, I am open and willing to see if it’s what my family and I think is best for me.
