Plankey is a traditional low-post big with some athletic pop. He burrows his way into the paint using a variety of post-moves and footwork, and he has really solid touch around the hoop. He can also make the kick out pass when he gets double teamed. In transition, he threw down multiple viscous two-hand slams and did his part protecting the rim on the defensive end. Plankey could probably have a really nice D3 career – it’ll be interesting to see where the 6-foot-9 senior ends up.

Ian Plankey Ian Plankey 6'9" | C Holderness School | 2025 State New E is a power forward who shines on the defensive end. With a long frame and tremendous instincts, Plankey shows his presence as a rim protector by swatting balls at the rim. He uses his length advantage well by always keeping his arms up. Plankey’s lateral mobility helps him keep his feet in front of opponents and lock up drivers. He is an excellent rebounder on both sides of the ball and is a double-double threat every night. On offense, Plankey can be most efficient as a roll man and dunk threat, but can occasionally hit an open three if left open. This rim-protector forward should get a lot of looks from programs and coaches needing defense, rebounding, and some interior scoring.
