He dropped 17 points on South-Doyle when the team improved to 7-0. The 6-foot-0 point guard pulled down eight rebounds in the win. Hayes’s handle allows him to get a little separation. Because he is a small guard the senior must create a little distance to find his shooting pocket, and he does it with quickness and elusive dribbling. Through about a month of basketball Seymour’s players are snapping off sharp passes quickly. These passes also help Hayes get time and room to shoot because they arrive early and often center mass.
