An eighth grader playing up, Hackney showed great composure against ball pressure, handling the ball well and seeing the floor at a high level. He plays with good pace and doesn’t get sped up, no matter how aggressive the ball pressure was. He has long arms that he uses to his advantage on the defensive end, getting up into passing lanes and contesting shots. His size and length are a major asset at this stage in his development, and he’s a high IQ player who understands his role, knows how to position himself on both ends, and can create plays for his teammates.
