Nelson was impressive all summer serving as a “do it all” guard and just making plays. I can’t quite point out his specific skill set, but in every game he is just making plays. NCHS was one of the toughest teams in the state this summer and with a guy like Nelson, paired with Cabrera and the rise of Creighton they have a great nucleus of talent with multi-faceted skill set. Nelson is a work horse and will surely impress coaches this upcoming season.

Nelson’s footwork through traffic was outstanding, allowing him to consistently create quality scoring opportunities in crowded lanes. He excelled playing off two feet, utilizing stride stops, jump stops, and controlled gathers to maintain balance through contact. His ability to instantly decelerate before exploding into another gear kept defenders off balance, while his crafty finishes and knack for drawing shooting fouls made him a difficult cover powering towards the basket.
