I only got to see about a half of Thompson this weekend as I was waiting for his game to finish but he was incredibly impressive for Hidden Gems as they found a way to grind out an overtime victory. A forward with impressive feet and soft touch around the rim, Thompson does a lot of damage in the paint offensively. With his size, athleticism and ability to finish off two feet, Thompson isn’t a flashy player but very effective. After an impressive season in the Columbus City League, Thompson is continuing to impress and should be a small college target.

A Columbus City League Star, Thompson is one of the most productive players in the conference. With his strong frame at 6’4, he’s able to bully defenders in the paint. Also capable of stepping outside and knocking down a spot-up 3-pointer, Thompson can hit you with an inside-outside scoring combo that’s tough to stop. Look for Thompson to be one of the top players in the city league once again next season.

Thompson was dominant early for Columbus Independence as they took an early lead for the City League with a victory over Central Crossing. Thompson knocked down three 3-pointers and was physical in the paint. A little undersized for a power forward but his strength and shooting ability makes him productive at the high school level. Antony Lowery also stood out for the 76ers with a couple dunks in transition.
