Expert Analysis
Allen Pettigrew | Prep Hoops Scout
Fredy Sylla is beginning to use the tools that have impressed scouts during his high school career. The 6’7 guard made the right decisions while leading Potter’s House half court offense. He has vision, shot creation skills, and a decent handle. His switchable frame and vocal nature make him a positive on the defensive end.

The 6-6 senior forward just continues to get better and better every single game so far this season. Sylla plays with length, good handles and strong pass-first instincts. Sylla has also improved to be a triple threat on the offensive end of the floor where he can catch on the blocks, as well as connect on shots from the perimeter. He also has strong rebounding instincts where he will limit the opposition from getting a second chance opportunity.

2023 stats: 24.3 PPG – 10.5 rebounds – 3.0 assists – 2.0 steals
One way to start off the season to build confidence is by dropping 20+ consecutive points in your first five games of the season. Sylla has been a scoring threat for PHCA to start the season as he’s looking to spark some legit college interest in his senior year. The 6-6 G/F prospect can be a versatile utility piece at the next level with a great motor and determination on the court you can’t teach. It’s the lengthy frame combined with bouncy athleticism and a solid jumper that will make him dangerous for opposing defenders.

The France native put on the best scoring display of the weekend at the SIAA Crossover, as he finished with a game-high 39 points despite the loss. Salam-Sylla is very versatile when it comes to his scoring where he can score across all three levels and displays great court vision. He also did a great job at pushing the basketball up the floor in transition as he utilized his unselfishness finding open teammates. I expect the 6-6 senior wing to have a big season as he has continued to improve his game as a facilitator and a scorer.
