About Elijah

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a Residential Assistant in the dormitory at Boys' Latin. I mentor lower school students as a Laker Buddy and am a member of the Bowling Club and the FCA.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

As a RA in the dorm I have had a leadership role amongst the students, helping new students settle in, and supporting and advocating for students throughout the year.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

As an international student coming to USA in 2023 I faced a number of challenges. I have had incredible experiences over my two years and am very grateful for the opportunity to grow as a player and as a person.

What type of college are you looking for?

A smaller college where I can play basketball and actively contribute to a team.

Fonotia’s scoring impact came early, with all six of his points coming on a pair of first-quarter triples, but he impressed with some little things he did throughout the game that should intrigue any number of small colleges. A native of New Zealand, he brings nice overall toughness and feel. Forced to play as more of a big for an undersized group, there looks to be perimeter potential to tap into as he enters college.
