Expert Analysis
Mark Miller | Prep Hoops Scout
Lindsey had 35 points and 14 rebounds in a 66-60 win over Dominican. Both are career bests for the four-year varsity performer. In addition, Lindsey made big plays on the defensive end of the floor with several deflections and three blocked shots. He made one clutch shot after another down the stretch, including a pair of enormous three-point shots as the Pointers rallied for the victory against a very good Dominican team. Lindsey’s versatility in guarding different spots on the floor, his reads while getting into passing lanes on that end of the floor, and his positioning for rebounds are all outstanding. He plans to major in nursing and play golf at Viterbo University in La Crosse so his basketball days may be nearing an end. But he has never played better than he did against Dominican, and his presence on the floor is a major reason why coach Dan Burreson’s squad is a definite contender to repeat as WIAA Division 4 state champions.

A game-changing all-around talent for Mineral Point last season, Lindsey averaged 6.6 rebounds per game and shot 41.7% from beyond the three-point line. A sniper from deep, he consistently stretched defenses while contributing in multiple other areas as well. Lindsey’s defense, highlighted by 1.1 blocks per game, made him a dominant presence on that end of the court. Heading into his senior year, his scoring, rebounding, playmaking, and defensive skills position him as one of the top players to watch.

Lindsey plays with a high IQ and continues to develop assets to his game.
The 6’5 guard plays an important role on Mineral Point, doing some of everything on both ends of the floor. He showed glimpses of how impactful of a distributor he can be. Look for him to take control offensively this season, likely matching or increasing last season’s 12-point-per-game average.

An unselfish, skilled and versatile wing prospect, Lindsey’s biggest attribute is his ability to win games. In his three years of varsity play at Mineral Point, Lindsey has helped the Pointers to 71 victories, two league titles and one state championship. The two-time first-team all-SWAL performer recently earned an NAIA scholarship from nearby Clarke University in Dubuque due largely to the positive impact he consistently makes on the floor. Lindsey has the size, mobility and toughness to guard different positions and doesn’t shy away from contact near the basket. He averaged 11.8 points, 6.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists as the Pointers went 28-2 and won the Division 4 state championship last season.
