About Eli

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m primarily a shooter that can shoot off the pass or off the dribble. I can handle the ball and find my teammates well when they’re open. I like to run around screens across the court to wear out my defender and get myself an open shot. On defense I am scrappy and quick.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality is to always have confidence no matter what happens and always think that I’m the best player on the court. I’m good at encouraging my teammates because it’s a team sport and we can’t win unless everyone’s at their best.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’m part of a youth group at my church, I’m involved in FCA at our school, and I’m on the student council. I’ve received an academic letter the last two years of high school.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve learned to be more supportive of my teammates and friends, and I have gone on two mission trips with my church, one to Louisiana and one to Kentucky. I also serve at my local food pantry once a month.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

This last summer I had to have a jaw surgery which limited me a lot and made me lose a lot of weight and muscle and I couldn’t work out for a while which was hard because I lost all the progress I was working towards previously, but I got through it and gained all the weight back that I lost and more.

What type of college are you looking for?

I would prefer a college that is somewhat nearby to me (like 5 hours) but it’s not that important to me.
