has been a major reason why. The 6’0″ floor general is playing solid on both ends. He sets the tone/tempo/pace with his consistency and competitive edge. Runestad is averaging 16 points per game early in the season, finding his scoring in a variety of ways while keeping the offense humming. Runestad has done an excellent job attacking the rim and getting to the free-throw line, and when defenses sag, he has made them pay by knocking down open threes at a 35 percent clip. With the ball in his hands, he brings poise and control, consistently making winning plays that elevate those around him. His leadership and all-around impact have helped fuel Baltic’s hot start, and Runestad has firmly established himself as an early-season standout.

Runestad was uber-aggressive in attacking from the point guard spot off the dribble. When he possessed the ball and brought it up the court, he was looking to attach the paint and rim consistently and relentlessly without hesitation.

I saw Baltic a ton earlier in the season, and Runestad’s play and confidence were quite noticeably trending in the right direction. A heightened role and he took it, by showing an improved handle and offensive creation with the ball.

Runestad is next in line for Baltic after they graduated key playmakers. I think it will be a collective effort between Runestad, Ben Erickson, and

, to fill the void that Jack Erickson and his 21.5 ppg. are leaving behind. Runestad, I believe, takes a great leap forward as a playmaker and difference-maker. By my eye, his skills are steadily improving, he’s more confident, and shots are falling for him. He was at 3.4 ppg. as a Sophomore, and I think he gets above 10 points per game this season.

Runestad continues to raise his stock. Doesn’t possess perfect size, but he’s a baller that makes plays when he’s out there. He can slash, play a nice transition game, and his three-ball game was locked-in at The Expo. Got into the heart of the D off the drive to kick or score in the lane. Competes defensively.
