Rarely do you see a player in spring/summer basketball grab nearly 13 boards a game for the entire weekend. And rarely do you see a player block 19 shots over four games, especially at 6’7 as opposed to 7’6!

The low post footwork of Hutchinson is outstanding especially the use of the pivot. Teams would throw an extra defender with a dig or a double, and Drew was patient with it and used the pivot to stay on balance and finish. Drew also did a great job forcing switches with his screens, and then going deep to post and score. Then you add in the face up jumper, sometimes out to the arc, and you had a 13 point per game scorer as well!

Battling against physical interior players from across the region, Hutchinson held his ground defensively, contesting and altering shots around the rim. He also showed versatility by switching onto the perimeter and effectively defending ball handlers. Offensively, he’s continuing to develop his touch around the basket with both hands and creating opportunities for teammates through well-executed ball screens. As a roller threat, he can find the gaps in the defense and force defensive rotations.
