Will Armishaw | Prep Hoops Scout
White, a guard out of Wilbraham & Monson Academy in Massachusetts, checks in at #6 among the point guards and #40 overall. White has adjusted quickly in his jump to Class AA of the NEPSAC, showing terrific poise with the ball in his hands as a decision maker, and maybe even more impressively, the ability to score the basketball at a high level. The compact and sturdy guard does a nice job of directing traffic, handles the ball with calmness against pressure, and has really improved his consistency as a perimeter shooter. Defensively, he has the ability to guard either spot in the back-court and uses his strength to force opponents off their driving lines.

White is only a sophomore and comes off the bench for Wilbraham, so you’d think there would be some growing pains against a stout Winchendon squad. But the 6-foot guard looked calm and comfortable, even while being aggressively pressured for 94 feet. He’s smart, unselfish, and controlled, which is more than many sophomore point guards can say at the high levels of the NEPSAC. He doesn’t necessarily have a huge impact on either end of the court at this point, but he gets the job done as a floor general and always competes on the defensive end. White has a bright future and is going to get a lot better from his reps this season at Wilbraham.

White was back with Middlesex Magic for the weekend and impressed with his floor general capabilities. The 6-foot point guard has a really good handle and good patience and control in the pick and roll; he uses his body well, has good change of speed, and makes good decisions for himself and others in the lane. I like his pull up jumper, too, which he goes to consistently when the defense is in drop coverage. Some added size will be huge for him as he gets older, but the sophomore guard has a bright future ahead and should really improve at Wilbraham and Monson.
