About Dawson

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I find success in a faster pace, motion type offense. I like to get to the rim off of a drive to finish or a make a play. I find success in the mid-post and mid-range areas shooting pull up jumpers and using quick post moves. On defense I enjoy guarding all 5 positions on the court. I use my strength, speed and athleticism to defend all areas on the court.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I believe in hard work, humility, and consistency. Those traits provide strong character and can help you in all areas of life.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved with my church on Sundays and Students with a Testimony (SWAT) on Wednesday nights with my church youth group. My non-sport awards include several of each of the following: * All-State Academic * All-Conference Academic * Student of the Quarter - Holdingford High School * Spotlight on Scholarship Academic Award

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I've been practicing keeping my composure in high pressure/emotional situations. This always helps to keep the mind clear and to move onto the next play. I've been a team captain my sophomore and junior years where I work on leadership, holding teammates accountable and being a good role model.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have been working on ways to impact the game while being double and triple teamed. This has improved my ability to see the floor and to make quick decisions.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college where I can stay for four years and get a degree and play some high level basketball along the way. I am looking for an uplifting atmosphere with people who truly care about me and my family.
