The junior wing did his part on the offensive side of the ball, hitting two clutch threes in the fourth quarter and overtime, finishing with 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting from the floor. He starred on the other end, though.

from start to finish, the third-year football prospect locked him up for the whole game. The son of Iowa head coach, Ben McCollum, Tate averages just over 19 points per game, and William held the All-State caliber guard to just 11 points on 3-of-18 shooting from the field, and 3-of-13 shooting from deep. A 40+ percent shooter from three, William gave McCollum no space once he crossed halfcourt, suffocating one of the best scorers the state has to offer with his length, agility and athleticism.

Length and eye-popping athleticism are Williams’ calling cards, providing some real versatility on the defensive end of the floor. He’s an agile, long wing who can defend one through five with his combination of length, lateral movement, and leaping, and he has great hands on the glass. As a role player for the Tornadoes as a sophomore, he averaged 6.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game on 56% shooting. He should take another step forward this year.
