Daejohn Thomas
About Daejohn
Expert Analysis
Max Wagner | Prep Hoops Scout
Daejohn showcased some versatility in the big win for Johnson. He can play in the paint as he has the strength to finish through contact, he can control the glass, and also make plays defensively as he swatted a shot off the court. Thomas also looked comfortable with the ball in his hands as he was handling it coast-to-coast on multiple occasions and showcasing soft touch off the glass finishing on the move. Part of a deep and talented St. Paul Johnson squad this season.

DaeJohn makes this list based on his scrappiness and intensity that he played with. There’s a lot of talent around him particularly in the frontcourt at East Ridge, so he doesn’t need to be a major scoring threat like he was at St. Paul Johnson. Against a pair of tough teams he provided a physical presence in the paint who rebounded, contested shots, fought for loose balls. Thomas runs the floor hard looking for transition opportunities, and has the touch to convert those chances at the rim. The type of forward who is able to guard taller bigs, but has the agility to switch and defend on the wing when needed.
