Steppenbacker is coming off a really productive performance at Mile High Madness, and with it being so new, I’d love to see him ride that momentum. We saw him be able to show a relentless motor, grab boards and start the break, attack downhill, and open up the floor a bit, and another solid weekend could further push him onto more radars. I want to see how he competes against other freshmen and show that he’s a balanced prospect that can be a name to follow. 

Steppenbacker made his impact through relentless effort and an impressive motor on both ends of the floor. He consistently crashed the glass, creating some second chance opportunities while battling for rebounds in traffic. In transition, he pushed the pace effectively, making smart decisions and finding teammates for easy scoring chances. When he attacked offensively, he showed the ability to get downhill, absorb contact and finish around the basket. His hustle, rebounding and willingness to impact multiple areas of the game made him one of the more intriguing under the radar performers from Saturday.
