is one of the better scorers in the eastern part of the state. Willing and able to launch from anywhere behind the three-point line whether its off-the-catch or off-the-dribble, Grimm can and does rise and fire when he wants to, given the greenlight to score.
Opposing defenders can’t go under screens like the Mustangs did at times on Friday, as Grimm immediately recognizes the drop coverage and fires away with his smooth, quick release from outside. In the first half against Mount vernon, he made almost everything from three, including step back and-one triple.

Grimm was in complete control of the game on both ends of the floor for the Stormin’ Pointers. He’s a 6-3 combo guard who can play with or without the ball in his hands, but he’s at his best when he’s initiating the offense and using his size advantage to shoot or pass over defenders. He handles it well, changes speeds, and is a creative all-around offensive player with really good footwork.
He displayed the ability to score from all three levels, shooting it from 3 off both the dribble and the catch, and perhaps the most impressive part of his game was the nice lefty floater (he’s a righty) that he used to finish in the paint against bigger defenders. Having the ability to finish from 10 feet with a floater with either hand is something that we don’t see too often from high school players. He (unofficially) finished with 26 points on 11-15 shooting, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists in the win.

A floor spacer for Murray Elite , Grimm serves the role of being a shooter on the perimeter that must hit open shots. At 6’3″ and 160 pounds, Grimm is slight of frame but does what he can with his physical tools. He’s shown that he’s not afraid to get into the mix and grab a rebound after averaging 4.5 boards per game last season for the Pointers.
I’d like to see him take and make more shots for Murray. If he can do that and become a more consistent shooter in his final season of high school basketball, Grimm should have a shot at the next level.
