An Army Football commit, Bowers and Steubenville went on a run to the state title game. I was impressed with Bowers physicality, perimeter shot making and two-way impact. Bowers led the Division III state title game in scoring at 22 points, making key shots for his team. Impressive run by Steubenville to make such a deep run after losing some key seniors last year. Impressive high school career for Bowers on the Hardwood and Gridiron for the Big Red, earning a spot as the number 39 shooting guard in Ohio, the same spot he is ranked in the country as a kicker.

On a night where neither team could get much offense going on the perimeter, Bowers hit some key jumpers to bring Steubenville back from a 5-8 point deficit they seemed to face the entire second half to eventually take the lead in the final 30 seconds. Bowers did a nice job of moving without the basketball and the chemistry he has with his little brother Landon is obvious as the duo connected for some easy looks. This Steubenville team surprised a lot of people due to the sacrifices their seniors made this season and the toughness they played with on a nightly basis, allowing them to go on this run to the state title game.

I was really impressed with Bowers as a wing guard who played under control, knocked down shots off the catch and has a sturdy frame as well. Knocking down the kill shot to put Steubenville up 19 points, Bowers did a nice job staying shot-ready off the catch and gets the ball up quickly to the rim. Add in the fact that Bowers was poised as a dribble driver, not letting Chillicothe swipe away at the ball and he was extremely productive on Wednesday night. The future Army kicker on the gridiron is looking to end his basketball career at UD Arena with the Big Red.
