You can’t teach size, and even if only for that reason, Okoye stood out as somebody to monitor moving forward. He barely played last season on WesTech’s sectional title team but has a chance to carve out a valuable role with the graduation of the vast majority of the Panthers’ production. His biggest impact undoubtedly is on the defensive end where he’s active with his length around the rim and shows solid technique while walling up as a shot-blocker. He’s a bit stiff as an athlete but still is able to change ends and keep up with the flow of the game. Anything he can bring offensively will be a welcome bonus but his value as a rim protector alone should be enough to catch the eye of college coaches.
