CoBL Interstate Shootout: New PA/NJ 2027 small-college prospects

City of Basketball Love hosted its annual fall Interstate Shootout this past weekend, bringing in nearly 120 teams from five states to compete over a stacked two days of action in Philly. Keep reading for a look at several 2027 who made first impressions over the course of the weekend as strong small-college prospects.    Size and shooting is always a good recipe for success, and Bahar certainly looks to have the requisite ingredients based on his play on Saturday afternoon. New to the U.S. from Turkey, he's a well-built swingman with good size and strength who shows a nice feel for the game on both ends of the floor. He was effective as a shotmaker with a smooth and confident stroke off the catch. While not the swiftest athletically and a bit limited off the dribble, he looks the part of a valuable plug-and-play wing at the next level.     Sellers was on the edge of a rotation a year ago but looks due to make a big jump based on the way he played in a thriller against South Jersey parochial power Camden Catholic. A mismatch forward with a rugged game, he's a plus athlete with good strength and moderate size. He thrives as a versatile and active defensive presence but also flashed the ability to convert efficiently after generating his own offense in the midrange. He's still a bit rough around the edges but the tools are there to continue developing at the next level.     You can't teach size, and even if only for that reason, Okoye stood out as somebody to monitor moving forward. He barely played last season on WesTech's sectional title team but has a chance to carve out a valuable role with the graduation of the vast majority of the Panthers' production. His biggest impact undoubtedly is on the defensive end where he's active with his length around the rim and shows solid technique while walling up as a shot-blocker. He's a bit stiff as an athlete but still is able to change ends and keep up with the flow of the game. Anything he can bring offensively will be a welcome bonus but his value as a rim protector alone should be enough to catch the eye of college coaches.     Sporer won't be pursuing hoops beyond high school but is still deserving of a shoutout here for his rugged play in a narrow Saturday morning loss to West Chester Henderson (PA). The big man brought great energy and some nice physicality to the floor on both ends, playing through contact for multiple efforts whether fighting for post position, getting into his drop step, or scrapping for extra possessions on the boards. He was a deep reserve last season but looks fit to carve out a real role for a Haddonfield program that's perennially among the strongest in South Jersey Group 2. A midfielder in lacrosse, Sporer is committed to continue his career at Washington College in Maryland.     Another emerging frontcourt presence, Weston looks like he could grow into a key piece for an Upper Dublin team that looks fit for a run at a district championship. A deep bench player as a junior, he's elevated into the Cardinals' starting five and provides a physical, lengthy two-way presence as an energetic '5' man. He has no issue doing the grunt work on both ends of the floor, generating his offense mostly by way of transition and the offensive glass. His game may not be the prettiest but Weston's size and team-first approach should be enough to put him on the radar of D3 programs.
