Between what he did at Heritage High School as a Freshman and what he’s been doing with Top Shot UAA 15u this spring/summer, it feels safe to say that Hargett is tracking as the top Point Guard in this NC 2029 class. His ability to orchestrate offense for himself and others with the physical tools he possesses at this stage are impossible to ignore. Hargett also has the ability to self create and get to his spots essentially whenever he wants as he possesses elite footwork off the bounce. The early pedigree, long term upside, and selfless approach make him the prospect he is.

Hargett proved to be one of North Carolina’s most productive guards in the 2029 class as freshman at Heritage High School and he’ll be playing his travel ball with Top Shot UAA 15u this season. As a freshman he averaged 16.5 Points, 3.3 Rebounds, 2.6 Assists, and 1.4 Steals per game on 47/40/83 shooting splits. That is dangerously close to 50/40/90 on high volume as a freshman in one of the more difficult public school conferences in North Carolina. That is a lot to be impressed with and one heck of a foundation to build upon for Hargett as he moves forward in his basketball career. Hargett possesses elite footwork when it comes to shot creation, he’s got a tricky handle and really good positional size to work with at this stage. He’s a capable PG with the ability of making reads out of ball screens and does a really good job keeping the ball in the middle 3rd of the floor. Hargett will get real attention this travel ball season if he simply continues to play the way we all know he’s capable of.

Hargett is proving to be one of the State’s top freshman early on with his ability to produce and directly impact winning in his first season at Heritage. His team is 13-8 and he’s taken on a lot of playmaking responsibility as a freshman with some established talent on this roster returning. Hargett is averaging 15.1 Points, 3.1 Rebounds, 2.4 Assists, and 1.4 Steals per game. He’s doing all of that on 45/32/86 splits, really impressive for a freshman with his usage + the level of competition. Hargett is a creative passer in ball screen situations, he has an advanced understanding of the game at this stage. He’s not super developed physically but has a legit frame to grow into over the coming years. He’s got advanced footwork when looking to self-create jumpers and is able to make them in a variety of ways. Hargett has an incredible foundation for a young PG and should continue to develop into a high level prospect in NC’s stacked 2029 class.
