Expert Analysis
Ari Rosenfeld | Prep Hoops Scout
Facing a sizable early deficit to a talented Archbishop Carroll (PA) group, Harmon stepped up to help turn things around and keep the Panthers in the game, showing an intriguing skillset in the process. A bigger guard who thrives with the ball in his hands, he showed a herky-jerky pace and confident three-level scoring package. Harmon was consistently able to get to his spots in the halfcourt for smooth finishes while also showing the ability to create space along the perimeter for a number of in-rhythm stepback jumpers. If he can show the ability to better harness his scoring gravity in order to make plays for his teammates, Harmon could emerge as a scholarship-level option over the course of this winter, with small-college programs sure to value his combination of size and microwave scoring ability from the backcourt.

This past weekend Harmon was running with Philly Elite, and he proved to be a fast and explosive two-way prospect who thrived in the open court. Harmon’s speed and change of direction moves enabled him to pilot the fast break for scores and assists. The combination of his court vision and live dribble passing skills produced several highlight reel worthy dimes. In the half-court, Harmon penetrated the lane for lay-ins and floaters. He also executed a handful of well-timed kick out passes. Harmon splashed several treys too. At the other end of the court, Harmon was an on-ball menace with his active hands that generated steals and deflections.

Harmon is an explosive prospect with tremendous open court scoring skills. During the MADE Hoops Northeast Preview he got downhill in a hurry and then pushed the fast break for scores or assists. Harmon’s speed and change of direction moves enabled him to go coast to coast for buckets. His ability to pass the ball ahead to an open teammate for an easy basket was impressive. In the half-court Harmon proved to be a highly accurate 3-point shooter as well as a creative distributor. Harmon also finished dribble drives in traffic with both hands.
