Entering the rankings just outside of the top 50, Armstrong put up a respectable 11 points and 6 rebounds this season for a very solid Spencer County team that made some noise in the 8th region. Chris plays more like a traditional center than a power forward but will need to continue improving his perimeter shooting to game to reach his prospect ceiling.

Chris served as one of four double-digit scorers for the Bears’ this season en route to an 8th Region tournament championship appearance. He also controlled the boards, pulling in over 6 RPG. Although a respectable shooter from distance, Chris did most of his damage around the rim via crafty finishing and creating second-chance opportunities. It seemed he was in the right place at the right time more often than not, often coming up with 50-50 balls as a testament to a heightened level effort and hustle.

Spencer County has been in games like this before and their winning experience pushed them over the top as they nailed back-to-back-to-back 3-pointers to turn a three-point deficit into a six-point lead in the fourth quarter that they would hold on to win. Armstrong played strong all game for Spencer County, sealing off defenders in the paint to quickly catch, turn and score offensively. I also was impressed with Armstrong’s passing ability, hitting a few kickouts to shooters when double-teamed and also hitting Ben Armstrong Ben Armstrong 6'5" | PF Spencer County | 2027 State KY in the paint on some big to big actions. On the defensive end of the court, Armstrong played in the middle of the 2-3 zone that Spencer County used and helped limit the amount of clean looks at the rim. It took grit for Spencer County to advance in a crazy road environment.
