The best available big in the class, Fitzer has been a rebounding machine for the last few seasons and is capable of finishing around the goal at a high rate.

Fitzer was a force down low for Pikeville as Lawrence County didn’t have much of an answer guarding him all night. He plays so composed, never really got sped up and nothing fazed him. When he saw bodies he made quick moves or got rid of it to get teammates shots. Lawrence County did a good job keeping him off the boards but he did most of his damage in the post.

One of Kentucky’s best rebounders, Charlie is a big time difference maker for Pikeville and his offensive game continues improving. Fitzer is the best post player in the mountains and one of the best in the entire state.

Probably the least glamorous pick on the list, Charlie may actually be the most impactful of every player, especially in the 15th region. Fitzer is one of the best rebounders in Kentucky and can be counted on to get buckets with post touches. If Pikeville wins the 15th again, it will likely be because no one can match his size and ability down low.

Charlie already had a big role last season for Pikeville but look for him to have a bigger spot in the offense for the Panthers as a Senior. Replacing Rylee Samons offense is a tall task and Fitzer won’t be able to replicate the three point shooting that Samons provided. The 6’9 Center should be able to get more buckets from the elbow and in off of designed plays instead of making his living on putbacks. Charlie could be a dark horse candidate for regional player of the year.

One of the state’s best rebounders, Fitzer is a bruiser in the low post who can score with his back to the basket and is capable facing up and shooting elbow jumpers. Charlie had a quiet start to his recruiting because of where he plays and a lack of AAU exposure but he should end up as a scholarship level player before signing day.

Charlie climbs from 50th to 33rd in this update and is likely to end up a scholarship player when the dust settles on signing day. Fitzer is a big body with deceptively quick lift when getting off the floor. A rebounding machine, The 6’9 Center should have several schools to pick from on signing day.

Potentially a top 10-15 kid in the class, state wide, Fitzer is a big bruising post player who has shown he’s an above average rebounder with good shot blocking instincts and the ability to score consistently around the bucket. Charlie could be the most under the radar post in Kentucky.

As mentioned in our “new names” article, Fitzer could be the biggest stock riser in the state in our next update. Blessed with a big body and good athleticism, Charlie has a nose for the ball and the ability to grab out of area rebounds. On offense, Fitzer is a throwback post player who can score over either shoulder. Definitely one to watch for the next year.
