He brings shot-blocking ability and a good sense for reading defenders when attacking the rim. Welch shows soft touch around the basket, rebounds well, and moves with purpose thanks to his solid footwork and active feet. He averaged 7.6 points and 5.9 rebounds per game while shooting an efficient 56.1% from the field. With one of Raceland’s leading scorers from last season gone, Welch is poised to take on an even larger role.

Welch is a true big with the potential to be a true difference maker with his size and ability to rebound and offer some rim protection. Charles has some good touch around the rim and has post moves that allow him to be a threat on either block. If he can stay on the court more this season, he could see a massive boost in his production from last year.
