About Carter

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

As a starter on my MN 4A varsity team as a Junior (Roseville Area High School), my gameplay has focused on pick and roll decision making, 3-point shooting, transition scoring and post ups. Through AAU the gameplay has been allowed me to be a playmaker and scorer from 3. I can play both inside and outside and look to score from any points on the floor while playing intense defense and rebound.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Very competitive mentality who doesn't like to lose. I often self-reflect after both good and bad games to find ways to improve my game or find other ways to help my team win. This mentality helped me become an All Conference (Honorable Mention) player in the MN Suburban East Conference as a Junior in the 2024-2025 season.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Honor roll for every trimester I've been at Roseville Area High School (GPA = 3.99 through Junior year so far).

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Leadership has an area I have developed since joining the JV/Varsity team as a sophomore. I let my work ethic speak for itself and lead by example by working hard, keeping other players accountable, listen to my coaches and staying late after practice to show others what it takes to improve. I also give back to the community through my park & rec volunteerism and commitment to support HopeKids.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

There have been injuries early in my basketball career that have taught me perseverance and grit.

What type of college are you looking for?

A college or university that has a focus on both academics and sports. Education is an extremely important part of my life - I take pride in my studies and want to ensure I have a successful career after college.

Brenden can really rack up points with his outside shooting and making multiple 3-pointers. Versus Park Center in the previous game Brenden scored 17 points while grabbing 6 rebounds, blocking a shot and grabbing 2 steals.

Carter shot it really well for East Metro Bounce on Saturday, and has the size at 6’5 to excel as a stretch four. He does a great job of keeping his hands and feet ready to catch and shoot out on the perimeter, but also has the coordination to quickly get into his shot off the move. Caught opposing forwards off guard in the first half against ABP Athletics with his ability to stretch the floor, and was able to knock down a number of shots from deep before they were able to adjust. Also knocked down a buzzer beater from well beyond the arc to send his team into halftime with a boost of momentum.
