Boettcher didn’t shoot it very well in the Rebels win over HMS, going just 1-7 from behind the arc, but he still finished with 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 7 assists. The form on his jumper is good, with a high, quick release, plenty of range, and a tight elbow, he just had a few rim in-and-out or it would’ve been a big night for him. He does a nice job using his shot to open up the rest of his game, putting the ball on the floor and getting into the teeth of the defense where he has a strong floater game and excellent court vision. He’s a good ball-handler and decision-maker who will do a little bit of everything for his team.

Boettcher is a physical lead guard who does a great job getting others involved, dishing out 4.9 assists a game and posting a nearly 3-1 assist-to-turnover ratio as a junior. He does a great job using his frame to absorb contact and finish through it, and he’s a strong on-ball defender as well.

Boettcher stuffed the stat sheet as a junior for the Rebels, averaging 18.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.9 assists, and 2.3 steals a game, and watching him on Saturday, it’s easy to see why. He’s a big, physical guard with a really good feel for the game. He didn’t force anything, looking to attack when the opportunity was there or get others involved when it wasn’t. He has a physical frame that he uses to power through contact and he showed a smooth stroke from the arc. He impressed on the defensive end, staying in front of a few very highly regarded guards.

A 6-0 guard who is coming off a really good junior year in which he averaged 18.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.9 assists a game. He’s at his best when he’s playing downhill and attacking the rim, using his quick first step to get by defenders for finishes.
