Being a pure iso scorer, he’s polished at getting to his spot. With a quick first step, Williams got to the rim and didn’t fear contact when attacking. His patience was key when getting to the basket on the drive. Many times, Carmelo let the defender fly by before going up for an easy layup. Against PCH, he was a one-man wrecking crew, impacting the game from every aspect. 

A defensive pest who takes pride in guarding his matchup and makes life difficult every possession. He’s a strong, big-framed guard with elite speed and high-flying finishing ability in transition and in traffic. Offensively, his game is built around attacking in the half court, getting to his pull-up spots, and consistently applying pressure as a downhill scorer and disruptive presence on both ends.

Williams makes the game look easy. Everything feels smooth and under control when the ball is in his hands. He owns a quick first step attacking downhill and explodes off the floor with little to no gather needed. Carmelo is an outstanding second leaper, springing back up instantly for rebounds, tip balls and finishes around the rim. His bounce paired with his timing allows him to compete well above his size.

What stands out most is his ability to manipulate defenders. Williams changes speeds naturally and knows how to bait defenders into awkward positions where they either surrender angles or foul him outright. He consistently gets to the foul line because of how well he plays through contact and controls tempo when driving. Defensively, his effort level remains high and his athleticism allows him to challenge shots against bigger opponents.

Williams is a strong, high scoring guard who has carried the momentum from an impressive junior season at Buford into a productive spring with the GA Canes . A true three level scorer, he combines high level athleticism with the ability to get downhill off the bounce and finish through contact. He’s equally impactful on the defensive end as an aggressive, high level defender who creates turnovers and can turn defense into offense.

A fast rising prospect in the 2027 class, Williams has had a monster junior season for the Wolves. The junior can be a scorer or a playmaker at the offensive end. He can create his own offense off the dribble and is a threat to score at all three levels. Combine his skill set with above average athleticism and quickness and you have a prospect that Division 1 coaches can’t wait to evaluate more this spring and summer.

Melo is a two-way standout. His lockdown D helps blanket other teams’ best players. Williams scores the ball from multiple levels and has an explosive first step toward the rim where he finishes with slams. Williams tallied 15 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal in a 70-62 loss to Norcross.

Carmelo scored nine of his 13 points in the fourth quarter as Buford survived Calvary Day. He hit a one-dribble pull-up, an And-1 reverse, a cut down the lane in transition and scored on a putback. Williams added 1 rebound, 4 assists, 1 steal and 1 block. Even against Calvary Day’s elite size, Williams still managed a productive night from 15-feet and in.
