burst back onto the scene with New Life Christian Academy and never missed a beat in his outings with PrepHoops NC on the scene. He’s a floor general that can guard 94 feet defensively as well when pushed. DII schools in the region would be wise to get eyes on him this spring/summer as an unsigned senior prospect. He plays with a ton of energy in the backcourt on both ends.

Oates is back in the Hoop State after spending time in the NEPSAC at New Hampton (NH). Cam is a left-handed scoring guard who really likes to push the tempo and let the three-ball fly from deep. He does a really nice job of keeping the ball low to the floor and getting downhill to the basket.
Oates is not afraid to take tough shots and really steps up to the plate when the game is on the line for the Monarchs. Cam was able to penetrate the gaps and touch the paint on a regular basis this weekend.

Scoring wise he didn’t have his best showing but he finished with a good number of assists and used his speed and quick hands on both ends of the floor to make plays. One thing that you have to love about him is that regardless of how the game is going, he’s going to compete with a high amount of intensity.

Oates was impressive in the Brandon Ingram Invitational opening game as one of the leaders for New Life Christian Academy in their 65-60 victory over Wayne Country Day School. He showed he could be a pest defensively and make things happen on the perimeter with four made 3-pointers and 24 points to lead the offensive charge for the Monarchs. He’s a recent addition to the NLCA rotation that’s proven to be a good catalyst to their backcourt.

Had a big time performance in their championship game matchup, scoring 17 Points, dishing out five assists and coming up with some clutch buckets and free throws in the final moment of the game. You have to love his scoring ability but also the mindset he plays the game with. He doesn’t shy away from the bright lights when the game is close, he’s a player that wants the ball in those situations.
