Walker might have had the game-winning shot, but it was off an excellent find from Bass – one of several winning plays that the 2029 PG made throughout the game. Caden was not just the engine behind the impressive win over SPE, but he helped lead the Warriors to the 15U Slam Semifinal this weekend in Myrtle Beach with 18.3 PPG. He went for 25 points and 3 assists in the game I watched, displaying a lack of fear when driving into the teeth of the defense against a big team. When he got there, Bass played off two feet, drew fouls, hit tough shots, and found teammates at a very high level, solidifying himself as one of the top guards in South Carolina’s 2029 Class right now.

The highest-ranked Point Guard who wasn’t in the preseason watch list is Caden. He burst onto the scene down on the coast, leading the Chiefs at 11.3 points per game. He still has some room for growth in efficiency numbers, but Bass was thrown into the fire in his freshman season, and he’ll be better for it down the line.

. Bass was a new name that I learned this season after he burst onto the scene with an excellent freshman season. He led North Myrtle Beach at 11.3 points per game, including three games with 20 or more points. He shot double-digit free throws in all three of those games, displaying an excellent feel for putting pressure on a defense and getting to the line. That is rare for a young player, as are many other attributes to Caden’s game. The Chiefs’ second leading scorer was also a freshman, so keep an eye on this young core to lead North Myrtle Beach for some time to come.
