My evaluation of Cade continues to grow the more I see this young versatile wing. Cade Wagner is truly a unique prospect with his size and height! He’s listed at 6’3″ but he plays much bigger than his size indicates. This past weekend, he was able to be an anchoring presence inside for the Kentucky Defenders 17U squad while also spreading the floor with his three-point shooting on the perimeter! The name of the game is versatility with Cade! I continue to love the high motor and competitiveness that he plays with on both ends. Wagner is also an excellent rebounder who is more than capable of running the fastbreak with his quick speed and stellar ball handling for his position. This rising senior should be on many coaches 2027 recruiting list as he no doubt deserves the attention as one of the top regarded forward prospects in this 2027 class!

Wagner is a unique versatile forward who can play and matchup with multiple positions. He is capable of creating for himself off the dribble as he rises and fires threes and midrange shots with ease! Outstanding shooter! Wagner also brings a toughness to the game being able to attack the basket and convert through contact. I really see a high upside in his game due to his ability to play multiple positions on both ends of the floor. Being 6’3″ helps him get his shot off at a high release point which can’t easily be blocked. Wagner has a level of confidence in his game that you can’t quite teach. You either have it or you don’t, and Cade Wagner clearly has a it! Being a versatile 3&D wing is exactly what will get Wagner on many college coach’s radars during this AAU season!

He ran with the Kentucky Defenders and was a difference-maker. Wagner gobbled up a ton of rebounds and scored with tough putback buckets. He was challenged with defending the opposing BIGs and did well despite being undersized. He only played two games, but he definitely changed the game. When Cade was not on the floor, he was certainly missed.
