I’m not sure if any player ended the season shooting as well as Brenner was from the outside. Brenner had a three-game stretch in late February/early March where he scored 34 PPG on 74% from 3-point range! One of the elite shooters from northwest Ohio, I’m surprised Brenner hasn’t gotten more scholarship love after the season he had with Archbold. The Division III national champions hosted him on a visit this fall, maybe more programs should be taking notes from them.

A small-town NW Ohio product, Brenner had a strong summer with the Ohio Buckets and has continued to impact winning with Archbold. Few players have the production, shooting ability and defensive upside that Brenner has among available seniors in Ohio. Kentucky Christian is his only posted offer, this is a player who should have much more Division II and NAIA interest. If Brenner can lead Archbold to a deep playoff run, he could get some new interests.

Brenner doesn’t look the part but this kid knows how to hoop. He is a great point guard who has an immense amount of skill. He can do it at all at the position. He won’t blow you away with his athleticism but he gets the spots on the court he wants and makes plays. He is a very good jumper and scores the ball often. He has a great feel for the game and will be running the show for Archbold this year, which is always a good program.

Brenner is a guard who does the simple things exceptionally well. He won’t make any mistakes and you can trust him with the ball. He makes some plays that impress but nothing too flashy. He has a great handle on the ball and pace to his game. He always makes the right play and keeps the ball moving. He is a kid who wants to have the ball controlling your team. Brenner has a great shot from beyond the arc. He is an efficient finisher around the rim. He will be someone coaches will like.

Playing with Ohio Buckets – Young, Brenner has made some noise this spring with his impressive shooting ability and athleticism. Already holding an offer from Kentucky Christian, Brenner is looking for more interest this June, attending regional prospect camps. As a slasher, Brenner has shown the ability to finish at the rim while also making smart dishes to teammates when the defense collapses. Another small-town product with a big-time game, regional scholarship and Division III programs should be all over Brenner if they want a guard shooter with solid size.

Brenner is as solid as they come. He doesn’t make any real mistakes that will hurt your team. He is very consistent as well, you just know what you are going to get out of him. That is a high-effort player that gets the ball moving and knocks down shots very efficiently. He has a very quick, smooth shoot with unlimited range. He really only shoots in when it’s a good shot but he seems to always make it.

Brenner impressed me for Ohio Buckets – Young as he was another priority watch for me this weekend after recently being offered by Kentucky Christian. I was really impressed with Brenner’s ability to shoot it off the catch with a handful of 3-pointers in the game I caught of his team. Brenner is also a solid athlete with a head of steam, figuring out ways to finish at the rim through shot blockers. As a slasher, Brenner played under control and found open shooters when the defense collapsed. I expect Brenner to continue to receive scholarship interest as the spring and summer progresses.
