Expert Analysis
Will Armishaw | Prep Hoops Scout
Camacho, a rising senior at the Brunswick School in Connecticut, did a little bit of everything for his squad over the weekend. The 6’3″ guard is a talented defender that can guard any of the three perimeter spots, while also showing the ability to plug passing lanes by anticipating plays before they develop. He’s a tough cover in the open floor, particularly when he gets downhill with the ball in his hands, due to his combination of size, length, athleticism, and strength. He can play on or off the ball, makes timely cuts to the rim, and has the ability to consistently knock down shots from behind the arc. He’s a scholarship level prospect that should attract plenty of coaches to Brunswick’s open gyms this fall.

+13 (#64 to #51)
Camacho, a guard out of the Brunswick School in Connecticut, jumped 13 spots in this update and now sits at #51 overall in the rankings. The 6’3″ guard does a great job of changing directions off the bounce, using his strength to play through contact, and finishing with touch over size in the paint. His ability to play off a quick first step as a driver lets him repeatedly get into the paint, where he shows good vision and feel for the game as a creator. Defensively, he thrives at the point of attack as a strong defender that moves well enough to keep opponents away from their spots and out of the paint. He plays his travel ball for the NJ Beasts.

Camacho, a guard out of the Brunswick School, was a standout on Saturday that played bigger than his size and with a high level of energy. He’s an attacking guard that did a great job of getting to his spots off the bounce, showed impressive vision as a passer when the help defender came, and was capable of making contested shots late in the clock. Defensively, he’s another guard that can hound opponents in space, using his combination of size, quickness, and strength to make opponents fight for every inch of the floor.
