We’ve reported on Bruce since his freshman season. He has become what many in the Liverpool program thought. An elite athlete. His work ethic and desire to every day improve his game has proved dividends. Outstanding rebounder using his size and athleticism. Can lead or finish the break. Mid range game has always been good he is now capable of draining the three or getting to the rim. Which he always had but needed to build on the experience to do it.

Bruce Wingate is a 6’3 guard from Liverpool High School and is in the graduating class of 2024. Wingate displays a high basketball IQ and plays with poise. Controls the tempo of the game for his team on the offesnive end, picks his spots nicely and lets the game come to him. Strong driver, has the ability to create straight line drives to the basket and finish through contact. Capable 3 point shooter, can set his feet and get the shot off quickly while knocking down contested shots. In addition to seeing Wingate play in the NYSPHAA tournament, we were able to catch the Liverpool vs Proctor game for a tough sectional battle, and Wingate was spectacular in this contest. He started the game off with a 3 off the pull up and stayed consistent until the final horn. We were most impressed at his ability to manage emotions and stay level headed in an extremely physical game.

#36 Bruce has been on our radar since he was a freshman. An elite athlete. High energy and outstanding work ethic. Can score getting to the rim. Because of his length and athleticism he can play multiple positions on either end of the floor.
