Expert Analysis
Garry Siehndel | Prep Hoops Scout
Scott is one of the most competitive players in the state in the 2027 class. The junior has continued to show growth as a passer already this spring with Southern Assault Texoma. This past weekend, he was able to average just under seven assists per contest and helped his club go 3-1 against some very good competition at the Kansas City Clash. Brody makes winning plays and has also shown growth with both his floater and mid-range jump shot. Look for his assist numbers to continue to increase as the next few months roll on.

Similar to the win on Saturday, while Scott wasn’t the most impressive scorer. He stayed relatively steady and delivered big jumpers and drives when needed. Has a good mid-range jumper. Stayed calm on drives, has good pick and roll chemistry with his big. Did a little bit of everything with 8 points, 4 steals and 2 assists. The looks he created went beyond the box score. Winning matters for PGs and Fort now has 24 wins on the year. With only two more needed for Gold.

Scott is all action with the ball in his hands. Crafty and tough, he’s an example of an offensive tonesetter. He’ll find ways to get paint touches, to not only score himself. But set up teammates for easy scores. Has moments of showtime in transition, as his motor doesn’t stop running. It’s clear he often leaves it all on the court. His energetic play has already translated to one State Tournament appearance for Fort Gibson. And has them well positioned to make another run at the Class 4A crown.

Scott may be on the shorter side, but he’s becoming a stronger guard. Which is a key part of his ability to handle quicker guards, and dictate the pace. While playing at his own pace, he can find ways to slip to the rim and finish with either hand. Or can take advantage of a defender’s over aggressiveness and hit in the mid-range. As a two year starter for the Tigers and having racked up wins at the 15U and 16U level for two AAU programs, Scott has started to build a strong resume or production and winning.

Crafty point guard prospect, who does a good job of playing at his own pace. Good vision and table setting abilities, from lobs, playing out of ball screens and showtime passes in transition. Capable of scoring in spots too, with three point shooting ability. Or snaking to the basketball by changing gears and having good handles. Bet on production prospect, who has simply got it done over the last two years at Fort Gibson and now two successful grassroots springs.

It’s not easy to score against Crossings, but Scott found his spots and finished with a team high 15 points. On Wednesday morning, his spots were in the mid-range. As the eastern Oklahoma guard has a very nice old school pull up game. Had an empathic “And 1” finished in the third as well. Strong sophomore campaign for the crafty lead guard, setting the stage for a busy spring and summer.

Brody is a calm, smart point guard. He is a team player that will facilitate and score evenly. Every trip down on offense he is patient with his pace, keeping his eyes on the team movements, waiting for the moment to attack or dish. Not easily bothered by quicker defenders, sticks to his game and can get up tough finishes taking contact. A very solid free throw shooter, good routine follow through and can sink them.

The small town lead guard has some juice to his game, as he was comfortable against a quick Wagoner squad. He did well in transition, pushing it off defensive boards with the mission to not only score himself but also create. One particular coast to coast move stood out, as it ended with him hitting an open shooter. There were some times he fell in love with his dribble a little much with some freshman mistakes, but overall he’s a strong ballhandler who generally did a good job of keeping the ball moving. The game watched wasn’t the best to judge his shooting, but at the rim he has a good feel for euro steps and other ways to get his off shot off as a smaller guard.
