The 17U Gold bracket tournament MVP put together one of the most impressive scoring exhibitions that we got the chance to see this spring as he led his team to a 4-0 record. He averaged 36 Points per game, scoring the ball in numerous types of ways against various types of defenders.

Haywood filled it up all weekend and had an awesome 34 point performance Sunday, leading his team to a victory. He punished defenses all weekend when they gave him room, knocking down jumper after jumper. However he was able to drive closeouts as well, which made opposing teams afraid of his scoring ability at the rim. I was impressed with his explosiveness, but his jumpshot making prowess was undeniable all weekend. College coaches should take a look at him as a scorer for their senior class.

Brishawn Haywood Brishawn Haywood 6'2" | CG Cary | 2023 State NC is a late-blooming guard prospect that did well in his senior season at Cary High in 2022-23. He’s an aggressive-minded guard that can operate off the bounce, making sound decisions as a shooter/slasher in the mid-range game. At 6-foot-2, he’s got enough length and athleticism to make defenders uncomfortable with the ball in his hands. College coaches at all levels would be wise to take a look at him given his abilities on both ends.

Haywood was electric in the Cary High backcourt as he kept the pressure on his opponents with his downhill driving ability. He finished with 20 points, including three 3-pointers to show he wasn’t just limited to his paint touches and layups. He’s an unsigned name with the Imps to keep eyes on given his ability.
