Bledsoe came out gunning in the first quarter. Settled for a lot of jumpers, but did end the opening frame by going around an attempted double, and draining a 15ish foot runner. In the second frame, he did a better job of capitalizing on the attention he drew by getting his teammates involved. Which also led to him getting better looks for himself while attacking the basket. Late in the third he got a deep three to fall, which gave him 20 at the time. More importantly that deep three put Deer Creek-Lamont up 15, effectively serving as a back breaker. A pair of late free throws gave Bledsoe 30 on the night, as he proved his scoring chops and combo guard creation abilities.

Bledsoe is another prospect who tasted the State Tournament last year but was sent home after one game. He’s also lighting it up this year, clearing 2,000 points for his career. The senior is a big guard, with smoothness to his game. Which makes him a handful to cover off the bounce. But impressively he can also fill it up from deep. Went for 47 points in the first half in a win over Cherokee earlier this month. Where he hit 11, yes 11 three pointers. Expect to see Bledose producing similar scoring lines to open the new Coliseum.

With positional size and a good skillset, Blesdoe fits in well with a Team Griffin Academy squad that is a blend of solid size and great skill. The small town prospect can fill it up from deep. But also has a smooth off the dribble game. The size and handle gives him an old school ability to operate in the mid-range. Expect him to be an efficient scorer for a TGA team capable of taking home the title on Sunday.

It was a slow start for the bigger guard, as he struggled from the field. But did finish with a flurry in a comeback attempt. Good movement and smoothness for his size, hit tough off the dribble shots in the second half. Season may have come to a close, but there’s promising college level aspects to his game. Will be interesting to watch this spring and summer. It was Deer Creek Lamont’s first trip to state in a long time, but if Bledsoe game was any indication, they’ll have a strong chance to be back next year.
