Coming down the stretch of his post-grad year, it’s important to make every game count, and Tassey managed to make a positive impression despite leaving with the loss. The Freehold Borough (NJ) grad scored 11 points in an important role as a complementary scorer on the perimeter. He was effective as a floor-spacer while also showing some craft and shotmaking touch in the process of creating his own offense in 1-on-1 situations off the dribble. He’ll have to work to get stronger as he transitions to the next level but could prove to be an intriguing scholarship-level option late in the cycle.

Tassey excelled on the defensive end of the floor with length and effort to be disruptive, deflecting passes, getting his fingertips on shot attempts around the basket, and pressuring the ball and turning opposing ball handlers over. Tassey also thrived on the offensive glass, being active on the boards and getting putbacks. Tassey also made a number of good decisions both in the open floor and the halfcourt, highlighting his ability to be unselfish and spread the ball out to his teammates.

His ability to play with and without the ball in his hands highlights his adaptability and value as a complementary offensive piece, capable of fitting seamlessly alongside any lineup.

Capable of creating off the bounce and getting to his spots efficiently as well as knocking down open shots from the perimeter, Tassey showcased his ability to play alongside anybody and be an effective piece on offense.

Tassey is a skilled swingman who showed the he can make plays with basketball in his hands. On defense he found ways to alter shots. Tassey does a good job moving without the ball in his hands and is a threat as a slasher. He showed he could hit shots from behind the arc. Tassey plays with an aggressive motor. He could improve from the charity stripe. Tassey should be a priority for division 2 programs.
