About Braylin

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

A dynamic player, very unselfish and brings energy on both sides of the court, always looking to make plays for the team, thrives in transition and can read the game well to create scoring opportunities. Making the most of the athleticism given to get to the basket and finish through contact and also to disrupt the teams on the offensive side.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

A very high winning mentality that drives everything on the court. No matter the situation it’s a commitment to do whatever it takes to help the team succeed, even when things don’t go the way as wanted.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Was apart of the beta and Kya club growing up and elected president. Stay in church and loves the family and have been awarded many awards outside of sports.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed a lot of leadership roles, because many kids younger than me look up to me and I have to be a good role model. I always help with the community service, whether it’s with a team, church or even by myself.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I struggled with confidence, I feel that sometimes I’m not good enough and get in my head and it effects the way I carry myself and sometimes the way I treat others.

What type of college are you looking for?

Any college, I just want to go to the next level to do the things I love and grew up doing.

McDowell caught the eye of our Mike Roth when LaRue County played in the King of the Bluegrass before Christmas. Braylin has made the most of more opportunities presented by the Hawks losing multiple players to transfer this summer. With an expanded role, McDowell’s numbers have gone up and so has his ranking. Braylin moves up from 234 to 102 overall.
