Expert Analysis
Cam Rickers | Prep Hoops Scout
Ben Howery is quickly making name for himself through the first couple weeks of camp season. The 6’1 combo guard has shown off an advanced scoring package for his age, the ability to not only create looks but knock down shots off the bounce too. He’s got solid size and athleticism already and I expect those physical traits to keep building. Howery could have the opportunity to step in and play right away as they lose a good bit of offensive production.

Howery competed on the same team as Sharper did and managed to finish Sunday’s play at Marietta’s Next Play 360 complex in emphatic fashion. He was a key factor in what was a blowout victory for his team. Howery stands at an even six feet and played with TSF during the travel season. His heads-up attitude enables him to grab his own rebound in case of a missed attempt. Howery understands how to operate in iso situations and can deliver strong finishes at the basket – and can get creative from time to time with them too. A 3-point shot is part of his offensive repertoire and his is fully willing to fall to the hardwood to complete a play.

Ben Howery proved to be one of the most well-rounded scorers at Sunday’s camp, hitting shots from various levels but also pressuring the rim constantly as a ball-handler. Howery has a strong handle and was able to break down most defenders off the bounce. He showed some impressive control when finishing at the rim, his strength and athleticism helping him there as well. Look for Howery to make a splash at Galloway in coming years.
