Continue ReadingBen Howery is quickly making name for himself through the first couple weeks of camp season. The 6’1 combo guard has shown off an advanced scoring package for his age, the ability to not only create looks but knock down shots off the bounce too. He’s got solid size and athleticism already and I expect those physical traits to keep building. Howery could have the opportunity to step in and play right away as they lose a good bit of offensive production.
We first saw Tre Keith Tre Keith 6’1″ | PG Tri-Cities | 2027 State GA this spring and summer playing up with AE5’s 2026 bunch which I think really elevated his game. He now enters the program at Tri-Cities where he’ll get to learn from and play alongside senior guard Malique Johnson Malique Johnson 6’0″ | PG Tri-Cities | 2024 State GA . I think Keith’s ability to both score and pass the ball will prove helpful for Tri-Cities and with a few years in the program, he could be a very high level defender too.
North Cobb Christian will likely have one of the youngest teams in the state this year, potentially 5 or 6 freshman on the varsity roster. However, that hasn’t hindered their success through the preseason and the competitive fire of Grant Robich Grant Robich 5’9″ | PG North Cobb Christian | 2027 State GA has been rubbing off on everyone. Robich is a pest on defense, pressuring ball-handlers and forcing a lot of turnovers. Offensively, he’s a sound decision maker and shoots it at a high clip.
Derrick Shine Derrick Shine 5’8″ | PG Cross Creek | 2027 State GA may not be getting the same buzz as others on this list because he’s out in Augusta but he could very well be the most talented ’27 that the peach state has to offer. The lefty guard can score in bunches and shoots it extremely well off the bounce. His IQ is advanced, an understanding of the game that you rarely see with freshman. Derrick Shine Derrick Shine 5’8″ | PG Cross Creek | 2027 State GA and Jaden Priester Jaden Priester 6’7″ | PF Cross Creek | 2025 State GA should make for quite an exciting duo at Cross Creek for the next two years.
Braydon Langston Braydon Langston 6’5″ | SF East Hall | 2027 State GA is a relatively new name on my radar but from what I’ve seen this fall, it’s gonna be hard to keep Langston off the court this year. His size and athleticism make for a ton of versatility and his motor could change the course of a game. I could see him playing a complimentary role on offense while being a difference maker on the defensive end. Langston enters his freshman year at East Hall where I imagine there will be plenty of opportunity.
