Ari Rosenfeld | Prep Hoops Scout
It’s fair to say Lewis largely came out of nowhere to become a consistent double-figure scorer, having both transferred in to LC this summer and elevated up from the JV ranks last year at Neumann-Goretti. The sophomore swingman jumped onto the radar while helping the Crusaders to their first PCL wins since 2021, showing himself to be a dynamic two-way playmaker in the process. Lewis shows comfortable three-level scoring ability from the wing, with natural ball skills to be able to create his own shot and sneaky feel as a passer over the top of smaller defenders. The ceiling for Lewis is evident and he’s put himself on a pretty clear D1 track with the jump he made in his sophomore season.

Among the bigger breakout stars in the league, Lewis has stepped up from the relative obscurity of the JV ranks into a valuable go-to scorer on a competitive varsity team. The leading scorer in PCL play for an LC team that’s won its first pair of league games in a half-decade, Lewis shows an appealing two-way skillset on the perimeter. A Neumann-Goretti transfer, he has promising natural ball skills for his size, attacking with pace to either side of the floor. He’s able to use his height to score or make passing reads over smaller defenders while also showing the ability to move his feet on the defensive end and show length to help keep the ball in front. Consistency will be the next step in Lewis’ development, but it’s been made clear this winter that he’s a D1 talent.

Making nearly a 15-spot jump in this update, Lewis has acquitted himself nicely to the Catholic League gauntlet while helping LC to their first pair of league wins in over five years. With a marquee scoring and playmaking role, it’s a significant leap from where he was a year ago while on Neumann-Goretti’s JV team. He shows a high degree of polish as a ballhandler for his size at this stage, with a growing ability to use his size to make plays for himself and others over the top of defenses. His growing skillset and quick-twitch athleticism allow him to be effective both in transition and the halfcourt. He’s still learning to tap into his full potential at all times, but the increasing flashes are enough to point to a considerable upside with a couple more years of development ahead of him.

Pacing the Crusaders during Stevens’ slow first half was Lewis, a sophomore swingman emerging quickly as one of the more talented perimeter players in his class across the state. A transfer from Neumann-Goretti (PA) who played on the Saints’ JV team, Lewis impressed with his natural poise and skill as a ballhandler at his size. He attacked with pace using either hand while using his height to survey the floor and make simple plays over the top as a passer. With a lean frame that’s ripe to pack on functional strength, Lewis figures to continue to emerge as a D1 prospect with his multifaceted skillset.
