About Auden

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a versatile combo forward who can score inside and out, defend multiple positions, and adapt to different roles on the floor. I can play the post, bring up the ball, and shoot very well like a guard. I am a rebounding machine, and I communicate on defense and make high-IQ decisions to keep the team flowing.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am both offensively minded and defensively minded. I am also competitive, coachable, and locked in on doing whatever it takes to win, whether that means scoring, defending, or making the extra pass. I hold myself accountable and push teammates to bring their best. I don't talk that much, so I let my play speak. I show up, stay focused, and outwork whoever is in front of me.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I made it to the Mathcounts State Competition and have gotten multiple academic awards. I was a part of the math team and going to be a part of the Science Olympiad and the math team.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I've become a better leader both vocally and by example. I now know how to prioritize the team, work with a variety of people, and have accountability for myself. Basketball has taught me self-control, time management, and the value of giving back both on and off the court, like helping younger players.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I had a hairline fracture in my ankle that kept me sidelined for 4-5 months. It took a long time because I reinjured it in the middle of recovery, when I went back to play basketball again. This was definitely my biggest challenge that I had to face, but I had a positive mindset and I vowed to come back better than ever.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that has a high-level academic program, as well as a competitive, high-level basketball program. I want to stress the student and athlete part of a student-athlete as much as I can. Also, I want to go to a college that isn't too big and a college that is on the East Coast and has a nice campus.
