About AJ

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

A brief way that I can describe my gameplay would be a lot of the mid-range and beyond the arc, but I also enjoy getting to the rim. I love playing both sides of the ball, and will get out and run when given the chance. I am athletic, so I use that to my advantage when it comes to playing at my pace and getting rebounds, and also being aggressive on defense.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have a first in the gym mentality. I love just putting my head down and working. I don't want people to watch me when I'm putting my work in and I try to not sell the game short. I love the process of getting better and dripping sweat, knowing that I put in great work and improved in the area that I was working on. I try to get a piece of my mentality from Kobe Bryant.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I'm in The Black Student Union, and an award that I have received was the seal of biliteracy for Spanish.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I love being a leader, but I will thrive in any roll that I'm given. I love working as a team to accomplish a goal, and I don't always have to be in the spotlight for that to happen.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I've faced a challenge with my confidence in basketball, especially when I was younger. I was worried what people thought about me. I was scared to shoot and do anything because I had no confidence. That was until I started putting work in so that I didn't have those thoughts anymore and began working the fear away. That is when I was able to grow as a player.

What type of college are you looking for?

Im looking at a college that I can grow both academically and athletically. A school that values its community and has a team first attitude. A winning program does not have to just be the record, but the vibes and the energy in the locker room and among the whole staff and players.

Morgan stands at 6’4” with broad shoulders and a very strong frame.  He was most effective in this game as a spot up shooter particularly from the corners as he made three from that spot along with getting fouled on another.  Would like to see him continue to evolve in other areas of his game, but he has the physical tools and a skill that will make him a good small college or JUCO player as he had 13 points.
