is a forward who consistently applys constant pressure on opposing defenses with his downhill style of play. At his best, Kretkowski thrives by getting downhill, attacking gaps, and finishing through contact with both toughness and finesse. Kretkowski repeatedly punishes defenses that fail to contain him off the dribble while also showing clear growth as a perimeter threat. His willingness to confidently step into in rhythm threes and create his own mid range looks has recently developed as an added layer to his offensive arsenal. Beyond scoring, Kretkowski’s relentless motor consistently shows up in the little things— crashing the glass, competing for loose balls, or making hustle plays, his energy often sparked momentum changing stretches.
Kretkowski’s recruitment has begun to pick up a little bit of steam as of recently, having earned offers from Northwestern and St. Joe’s University the last couple of weeks, with a number of other programs looking to get in the picture.

‘s absence. He gets his production within the flow and is effective as a second-side attacker where he can quick and use an effective first step in getting to the rim. He showed balance in the process and could adjust to either barreling through defenders while maintaining control on his finish or falling away for floaters with soft touch. He’s a willing rebounder on the offensive side of the ball and fits the mold as a guy who generates points in a low maintenance manner on this team. If he isn’t in position to haul in a defensive board, he puts his head down and sprints the lanes wide to gain an advantage for advance passes where he can get downhill and convert.

The only standout scorer in a balanced Difference Makers Elite win, Kretkowski was consistent in his output on his way to 27 points. He was a force with his ability to pressure the rim in a variety of facets, whether attacking off the bounce, crashing the glass, or running ahead of the ball in transition. The junior wing forward showed his explosive finishing ability while also flashing his scoring instincts and midrange shotmaking ability in 1-on-1 situations. His ability to manufacture points without needing plays called for him bodes well for his ability to carry his production forward to the next level, with a variety of higher level D1 programs already on his trail.

is a relentless downhill minded player who looks to exploit any driving lane he sees and that remained true on the way to this St. Joe’s Metuchen group embarking on a special turn around season under new head coach Mark Taylor and winning a GMC conference title. Kretkowski thrived all season long by applying pressure on the rim, attacking closeouts to get into the paint and finishing through contact with a variety of crafty and tough makes. An area of his game that saw noticeable strides and grew increasingly dependable as the season went is how he balanced that attacking style with improved perimeter shooting, stepping confidently into in rhythm three point attempts and also showing the ability to create space off the dribble in the mid range area with smooth and controlled footwork and soft touch. True to his identity as a high motor gritty competitor, Kretkowski had no problem embracing the dirty work at certain points during his junior season—making a strong impact on the glass by crashing the boards with energy and securing impactful rebounds. His consistent effort on both ends and the contagious nature of his intensity often made him the catalyst for big runs and momentum shifting plays for St. Joe’s Metuchen, reflective of the numerous highlight worthy above the rim finishes he put on display during the season.

Combining with Carter to score nearly three-quarters of the Falcons’ points, Kretkowski put up a valiant effort to close out his junior year. The swingman played with his typical high motor while posing a consistent matchup problem for the Marauders with his size, skill, and quickness attacking off the bounce. Kretkowski was consistently able to attack decisively to his spots before either finishing at the rim or elevating smoothly over his defender in the midrange. He wasn’t able to get going from the perimeter, which is still the piece of his game that he’ll be looking to show the most this spring in front of potential high-major suitors on the EYBL circuit.

delivered a standout performance that highlighted his overall impact and unique versatility. In a tough road environment, Kretkowski helped this St. Joe’s Metuchen group establish their composure early, catching an emphatic lob right out of the opening tip. As the game went on, Kretkowski settled into a nice rhythm offensively— thriving as a zone buster early on, finding openings in the middle against Paul VI’s zone and hitting smooth turn around jumpers, showcasing great balance, strong footwork, and soft touch in the mid range area. As the game went on Kretkowski continued to highlight the increased growth in his game as a perimeter shooter, knocking a pair of in rhythm triples off the catch.

delivered a standout showing that featured not only a versatile scoring attack but one that also highlighted his typical insanely high motor and relentless energy on the court. Aggressive from the jump and settling into a nice rhythm offensively early on, Kretkowski demonstrated his ability to you in multiple ways— mid range area shot creation with impressive footwork and soft shooting touch, back to the basket game in the mid post, off ball movement cutting to open space, impact on the offensive glass to convert on meaningful multiple second chance opportunities, and even flashing his outside spot up shooting ability.

got going benefiting from Crestwood Prep’s defense being forced into rotations, attacking closeouts to get in the lane and convert on a number of crafty and tough finishes in the lane. A part of his skillset that has continued to become more and more consistent thus far this season, Kretkowski countered his downhill aggression with his evolving soft shooting touch— stepping into a pair of in rhythm open looks from three point range while also flashing his ability to create a little bit of separation off the dribble and knock down outside shots off the bounce. Living up to his reputation as a high motor gritty prospect who doesn’t mind doing some of the dirty work, Kretkowski was also extremely impactful on the boards, crashing the glass and securing rebounds.

Facing off with a talented Crestwood Prep team from Canada, Kretkowski struggled to find his footing a bit in an uncharacteristic first half for St. Joe’s, but came alive in a big way as the Falcons soared ahead before leaving with the win. The swing forward was effective attacking from a variety of spots on the floor, using a blend of power, explosiveness, and herky-jerkyness to attack the rim off the bounce. He knocked down a pair of 3s, one off the catch and one via a smooth stepback. Kretkowski would finish a team-high 22 points, just two points shy of his 1,000th for his career.

continues to exhibit what makes him an ultimate plug and play fit with every showing at the forward position, due in large part to his unique versatility and insanely high motor. Probably his best shooting performance to date thus far this season, Kretkowski impressed as an outside shot maker particularly in St. Joe’s different half court actions, knocking down a number of perimeter looks in rhythm and with confidence off the catch. Routinely setting the tone with his ferocious motor, Kretkowski also lived up to his reputation as one of the hardest playing prospects in the state regardless of class— particularly with impactful and meaningful offensive rebounds and emphatic and athletic transition finishes as a result of St. Joe’s defensive pressure as a collective unit.
