Expert Analysis
Ari Rosenfeld | Prep Hoops Scout
A First Team All-League selection on the heels of a breakout senior year, Moody put up a valiant fight to help drag his team back into the game before ultimately going down in a narrow loss to Cardinal Hayes. With the Kingsmen trailing by more than 15 points into the second half, Moody switched into attack mode, going right at a deep and talented Hayes backcourt with his potent multi-level attack. He was able to use his quickness to get all the way to the rim off the bounce while also showing off his pullup shooting and knocking down two of his six attempts from beyond the arc. Moody would finish with 20 points and 8 assists in his last high school game. A younger senior, he’s likely to go the prep school route but is worth a hard look at the scholarship level this spring.

A returning double-figure scorer from last year, Moody will step further up the rotation as a senior and looked comfortable with the increased workload while steering the Kingsmen to a comfortable season-opening win. A classic lead guard, he kept the ball on a string while weaving to his spots with ease and expertly controlling the pace of the game. He established himself early on as a scoring threat with his pullup jumper, later stretching things out while knocking down multiple deep 3s off the catch. His crafty playmaking and defensive ball pressure added a needed two-way jolt to a lineup otherwise filled primarily with athletes, defenders, and finishers. Despite falling into the “undersized” category, Moody should have a chance to catch eyes at the scholarship-level this winter or could make a big splash next year at the prep school level, having just recently turned 17.
